Sean Henry - Class of 2009
Currently a junior at Villanova University pursuing degrees in Finance and Accounting

S.S. Colman-John Neumann played an instrumental role in all aspects of my development. I had nothing but great experiences with teachers, administration, coaches, and friends. Throughout High School (Archbishop Carroll) and College (Villanova University) I’ve met students from what seems like every parish and school district in the area and I firmly believe the education I received at SCJN was unparalleled. I could not have been better prepared to succeed when I left SCJN and I honestly still use things that I learned in grade school every single day, particularly math, reading, and especially writing skills. I’m not only grateful for the education I received at SCJN but also the memories I was able to share in. Scholastic Olympics, Floor Hockey, Field Day, Special Lunch, Prayer Partners, Grandparents’ Day, I could go on.

When I think of these unique traditions I can’t help but smile. I still see grade school friends when I’m home on break, and we always laugh about things like the 7th grade baseball team, random American History facts from Mrs. Betz, or the Stock Market game in Honors Math. I don’t mean it lightly when I say that I truly loved SCJN, and all of my past, present, and future success can be attributed to my time there.

Kaitlyn Powel - Class of 2017

My time at S.S. Colman-John Neumann has shaped me into the person I am today and set the foundation of my strong belief in the development of the whole person. While at SCJN, I encountered nothing but positive experiences with all my teachers, coaches, and administrators. I was continuously motivated and encouraged by these adults in my life to put every amount of effort I had into my work and activities to ensure that I developed a good work ethic in addition to healthy learning habits. I feel as though my grade school education at SCJN has incomparably never failed to prepare students for the academic rigor of high school, and I find that many of my fellow graduates and I are more often than not excelling in our current places of education because of the values and lessons found in the mission of SCJN. Throughout my time at SCJN, I also was highly involved in more things than I can probably remember, which still applies to my current involvement at Merion Mercy Academy and shows that students feel free to do what they want at SCJN without strain on academics and judgement. I not only am thankful for the exceptional education and opportunities I received there, but for the unforgettable memories and countless lifelong friends who are still in my life today. I will never forget the excitement of Floor Hockey night, Christmas and Grandparents Day shows, Rice Bowl lunch, Field Day, Catholic Schools Week, and so many more traditions that I still hold close to me. Several of my best friends now are still my best friends from SCJN, and there is not a day when we don't talk about the memories we made together like the class bus rides on field trips, playing double slide with Mrs. O'Brien, watching our "How To" videos with Mrs. Sanchez, or playing four square at recess. I am genuinely sincere in saying that I would not trade my time at SCJN for anything, and I can accredit so many of my successes and interests to that.
