We are praying for Kimmy Keating, Riley Mullins, Patricia Lavin, Bella,
Ellie, Eve Tennille, six special intentions, the parishioners of St.
Colman and St. John Neumann Parishes and for peace and justice in
Afghanistan.
School Registration Form
REMINDER: If you have not already done so, please return
the Income Survey that was sent home to each family ASAP. The
information is kept completely confidential but is vital to the state
and federal allocation of education funds and does affect our
government funding.
Please download the attached Lenten
Calendar from Partners in Faith. It provides quick and
easy daily activities and reminders for the Lenten season.
Please note that Terra Nova
Testing is March 2 through 9. Please try not to schedule morning
appointments for your child on these days as it disrupts the testing
process. Thank you.
The BLOCS
(Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools application and
guidelines are now available and can be found at their website, www.BLOCS.org. Grant money is
available to those families meeting the income guidelines on the
application. Portions of the BLOCS grants are specifically
earmarked for SCJN School and we urge all who meet the guidelines to
apply. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 16,
2012. Please call or email Mrs. Blumstein if you cannot download the
application or if you have questions concerning BLOCS.
Applications for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAPS)
applications are also available. TAPS is only for those students
attending Archdiocesan High Schools and must be submitted by April 16,
2012.

goes to defray the cost of running our school:

Box Tops for Education
We also take cancelled postage stamps for the missions and soda can
tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.
All items may be sent into the school office.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday,
March 21 at 7:00PM. We are very excited to host Susan Fitzgerald,
a St. Thomas of Villanova parishioner, who coauthored Letting Go With Love
and Confidence with Dr. Ken Ginsburg. Dr. Ginsburg was
one of the professionals interviewed in the documentary Race to Nowhere, which we viewed
together at our November meeting. We look forward to having Susan
Fitzgerald's share her insight with us.
We
need volunteers to make Donuts for Dads run seamlessly Friday, February
24.

SCJN Track and Field Registration:
Registration is now open for all girls and boys in grades 4-8
interested in running track for SCJN. Please go to www.scjncyo.org for
registration material. Registration will close Friday, March 2nd.

The SCJN Athletic Association will hold its' annual
fundraiser featuring Blackthorn. Tickets are $40 a person/$75 a
couple and include catered food and open bar. Please see the attached flyer for

Pizza, drinks and ice cream will be sold at lunch on Thursday.
The St.
John Neumann First Eucharist parent meeting is Thursday, February 23rd
at 7:00PM
in the parish center.
Donuts for Dads is
this Friday morning, February
24th from 7:30-8:00AM. Please join us for some
donuts, coffee and juice! This morning is a long-standing
tradition at SCJN and is enjoyed by all! Please note: if a
Dad cannot make it to Donuts for Dads, please free to send another
family member or special friend in his place! (Moms have come in
the past, grandparents, etc.) Also, your child or children could
always come along with a friendŐs Dad. It is a morning of fun and
we hope all feel welcome even if Dad is out of town or has a conflict!

for information regarding their many programs including their summer
program and their Parents Night Out/Kids Night In program which returns
each of the next two Fridays. The Center on Central is a great
resource for a variety of childrenŐs activities and
programs.
Merion Mercy Academy is offering a Practice High
School Placement Test to boys and girls in 7th grade on Saturday, March
10, 2012 from 9:00AM to 1:00PM with lunch included. Cost is
$35. Registration is available at www.merion-mercy.com/admissions.
Registration is now open for Coopertown Youth Baseball. Offering
T-Ball and coach pitch divisions for kids 4 to 9, the primary
objectives of Coopertown Youth Baseball are to maximize fun and to
provide basic baseball instruction to boys and girls. We do not keep
score and do not keep standings. There are no practices, playoffs or
