Ss. Colman-John Neumann School Update Sheet
June 4th to June 13th

 
      We are praying for the peaceful repose of the souls of Robert McCarron and Nicholas Garza.  We are also praying for Father Meehan, Mrs. Prowse, Ryan Porch, Charles Stanton, four special intentions, the parishioners of St. Colman and St. John Neumann Parishes and world peace.

    The Student Council Leadership Team for the 2008-2009 school year is:

We congratulate all these young people and wish them well in these positions.   

    The last Great Lakes certificate order was placed on May 9th. In-stock certificate orders will be filled in school up to June 5th.  After that time, you can purchase certificates at the rectory, from the home sellers or at Sunday mass.  If you plan on making a large purchase (i.e. over $500) please contact Lisa Falcone (610-924-0507) and she will order it for you.

    Can you make a place in your family for a foster child? Many children need the love and support of a foster family.  Catholic Social Services is seeking married or single adults to become foster parents for children of all ages, races and denominations.  Homes are also needed for children with special medical or emotional needs and for siblings who wish to live together in the same home.  Catholic Social Services provides professional training, support, financial reimbursement and Catholic school tuition to foster children.  For more information please call Melissa or Pat at 215-587-3960.

    Athletic Board News: The SCJN Athletic Board is seeking an individual to become the Athletic Director. If interested please contact Susan Gallagher (610.525.2583) or Bob Lee (610.449.1606) for more information.

    2007-08 Athletic Program Uniform Deposits: Parents of Student Athletes who would like their Uniform Deposit Check returned to them please contact Greg Hauck at 610.520.0553.  All unclaimed checks will be shredded at the end of the school year.

    There is no school for our 8th grade students on Thursday, June 5th and they will have an abbreviated schedule on Friday, June 6th.  Please see the letter Mrs. Betz sent home with your soon-to-be graduate today for details.
   
    End of the year assessments continue on Thursday and Friday, June 5th and 6th for grades 1 to 7.

    Pizza, drinks and ice cream will be sold on Thursday, June 5th.

    REMINDER:  The following individuals are scheduled to sell certificates after Mass the weekend of 6/8 at SJN: Devlin (6:00PM), Hauck (9:00AM), B. Price (10:30 AM), and Abbonizio (Noon).  If you have a scheduling conflict, please make arrangements to have someone cover your Mass or CALL LISA FALCONE OR AMY YOUNG.

    Students may wear their gym uniforms to school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. If you have any gently used uniform items, they can be sent to school for the swap rack.  Remember, you can purchase uniform items from our swap rack for $3.00 each.

    Dismissal on Monday, June 9th is at Noon.  All townships will provide transportation home.

    Our eighth grade will graduate on Monday, June 9th at 5PM in St. John Neumann Church. We wish them all the best in high school.
   
    Field Day is Tuesday, June 10th. 

    Dismissal on Tuesday, June 10th is at Noon.  Radnor school district will not provide transportation home.

    Dismissal on Wednesday, June 11th is at Noon.  Radnor and Maple-Newtown school districts will not provide transportation home.

    Thursday, June 12th is a clerical day for our teachers.  There is no school for our students.

    Please join us at our final mass of the 2007-08 school year on Friday, June 13th at 9:00AM.   We will be honoring our many invaluable volunteers.  We thank Miss Murray and grade 2/2 for preparing this liturgy.

    Friday, June 13th is the last day of school.   Students should wear their school uniform on Friday. If the school uniform has been donated to the swap rack, students may wear appropriate dress clothes.  Please, no spaghetti straps, shorts or flip-flops. Dismissal is at 10:00AM. Radnor and Marple-Newtown school districts will not provide transportation home.

    Please note that the summer hours for the school office are 9:00AM to Noon, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from June 16th to July 3rd.
